The Grinch That Stole Easter!

Download word art here

My principal has decreed that egg hunts are for preschool students and NOT kindergarten students.  So, for the first time, there will be no egg hunt for us.

No egg hunt for us, but the kindergarten classes at other schools in our county will continue on with their traditions.

It's so sad and I truly can't wait for this school year to be over!

45 more kid days!

Meanwhile, drill and practice for a completely ridiculous standardized test continues.

Rhyolite, Nevada

Download word art here

We spent a day in the desert while in Las Vegas. We really did!  We drove out Red Rock Canyon and from there we hit the road to the ghost town of Rhyolite.  It was a long boring road!

It was totally worth it though!

Many of the buildings that are left in Rhyolite are in pretty bad shape and there's not much left of them.  Still very interesting though!  I'll show you those pictures later.

They also have the Goldwell Open Air Museum which is.....weird .....to say the least!

Here are some of my pictures from there...

The Neon Mueum

Download word art here

One of the things we had on our lit of things to do in Vegas was a visit to The Neon Museum.  It's a really neat place and they tell you a lot of the history of the signs.

You aren't allowed to wander around on your own.  You have to stay with the group and the tour guide yells at you if you move where she can't see you.  Seriously!

The only real problem I had with the place was that between the tour guide posting herself in front of the signs you were looking at and the other people in the tour group blocking your shots it was really hard to take any pictures.

I swear there was one guy there wearing a purple shirt who watched people set up their shots and then walked into the photo and took pictures of his own.  I'm not kidding!

The next time you're there, beware of nerdy guys in purple t-shirts!

I managed to get a few shots I like...without having the tour guide yell at me...too much. LOL!

We made it home from Vegas safe and sound.  I have tons of pictures to share and stories to tell, but I am exhausted tonight so they will have to wait.

The good news.....I didn't have to call you guys for bail money. LOL!

I am NOT the worst cook in the world, afterall!

Download word art here

I repeat..... I AM NOT THE WORST COOK IN THE WORLD!!!!!

The teacher across the hall from me made milkshakes using some weird kind of ice cream with no sugar and water.

That's right she mixed ice cream and water together to make milkshakes!

Seriously, even I know that MILKshakes need milk!

Almost Vegas time!

It's a four day work week followed by a week of spring break in Vegas!  I'm super excited, but completely unprepared!

I have done laundry.....and by that, I mean.....I dropped my laundry off for someone else to wash, dry and fold.  (If only they would come over and pack it all in my suitcase...)

I've got the DVR set to record my favorite shows and word art set to post on the blog.

At some point I'll stop an pick up extra toothpaste, soap and deodorant.  (I'm sure my friend will appreciate that.)

Hey....Maybe, I'm more prepared than I thought.....

Who wants to give me $125?

Download word art here

Check out this contest I want to enter.....

http://mashable.com/2015/03/11/writing-inn/

All I need to do is write in 200 words or less how winning this bed and breakfast in Maine would change my life.  Then submit my entry with an entrance fee of $125 before May 17th.

The current owner won the inn in 1993 by doing the very same thing!  Of course, the entry fee then was only $100.

You all know I love writing about myself. LOL!  You also know that I dream of owning a summer home in Maine.

Now,this will give me a year round home in Maine.  BONUS!

So, who's in?  Who wants to front me the entry fee in exchange for a free room any time they want to visit
after I win.  I'll even guarantee that someone other than me cooks your breakfast!

Plus, just think of the stories I'll have to tell about trying to run a business!

Don't call me old!

Download word art here

Saturday night  at around 10:30 my neighbor and I decided to meet up with the guys for a late night bite to eat and a dink or two.  I hadn't eaten dinner, so I was ready to go and around here the restaurants are still pretty busy at that time.

After some shared appetizers, a couple of beers, lots of laughs and great conversation my neighbor and I headed back home while the guys went to shoot pool.  We were walking along a sidewalk we've walked thousands of times when I lost my balance and tripped over an uneven place.  I knew it was uneven there!  I knew it and I still tripped.  My ankle twisted HARD and I went down fast.  It hurt really bad too!

There were some teenagers standing around across the street from where we were and when I fell I heard one of them yell....

Oh my God, that old lady just fell down!

They came running across the street to make sure I was OK and see if they could help.  The only thing I could say to them was.....actually I YELLED it.....

I heard you call me an old lady!

Those poor kids started apologizing and saying that it was dark so they couldn't see me very well and then were speechless as they watched my neighbor fall the sidewalk beside me laughing.

Eventually, they helped us both up off of the sidewalk and headed back across the street as my neighbor walked while I limped the rest of the way home.

I can only imagine the stories those kids are telling their friends now!

I made it home and was seriously considering going in to have my ankle xrayed, but didn't have the energy.  I iced it down and went to bed.

I woke up on Sunday morning with a sore swollen ankle that was starting to bruise and an embarrassing but typical Ginger story to tell.

Some days.....

Download word art here

So, my day started with a little girl standing in the doorway of my class holding a very wet book bag and saying.....

"My sister peed on my book bag."

It's along story and trust me ~ you don't want to hear it!

I sent her home with a new book bag, new folders, new pencils, new crayons and I even threw in some paper.

I picked my class up from lunch only to have my students upset about some of the things one certain kid was saying. He was using some pretty bad words!  The kid who was on the receiving end of the words was very upset and it led to a very interesting conversation.....

Him: He said to me, 'You MFing a-hole.  I'll come to you house, you beach.'

Now, I was pretty shocked that this boy had just walked into my class and said this so I probably didn't react the correct way.....

Me: He called you a beach?  Like...we go to the beach and swim?

Him: No, what he said rhymed with beach.

Again, I was shocked!  I mean the kid had no problem repeating the first two words, but drew the line at repeating the last one.  My main thought.....

I really need to review rhyming words with this kid!

I had someone who speaks Spanish call the parents of the kid who said all the bad words...

The good news is your child has really picked up the English language, but the bad news is that these aren't the words we want him to pick up.

My day ended with the kids complaining about a certain, very strong and undeniable odor in the room that led to one boy loudly announcing....

I didn't have an accident!  I just don't know how to wipe my butt!

Don't you wish you were a kindergarten teacher?
